Major General (U.S. Army, Ret.) Matthew P. Easley
Associate Dean of Joint Warfighting, College of Information and Cyberspace, National Defense University
Dr. Matt Easley serves as Professor and Associate Dean of Joint Warfighting in the College of Information and Cyberspace at the National Defense University (NDU). Prior to joining NDU, Matt served as a career signal officer in the Army Reserve retiring as a major general with his ultimate assignment as the Principal Deputy Information Operations Advisors in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.
Highlights from Matt’s Army career include establishing and serving as the director of the Army Artificial Intelligence Task Force within Army Futures Command, as the Chief Information Security Officer in the Office of the Army CIO, and as battalion and brigade commander of expeditionary signal units with multiple deployments to the Middle East. In his civilian career, Matt has been a research scientist developing intelligent decision aids for business and military customers; he was also a senior systems architect with the Boeing Company and served as a chief engineer for multiple research and development programs.
Matt is a distinguished graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and holds advance degrees in computer science and electrical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Kansas State University.
